   Time  -  Reason

1) 1.47 - Render it out as PNG, gets rid of the background
2) 1.56 - Adding signs using skew tool
3) 2.10 - Adding textures using rectangular marquee to adjust the image
4) 2.29 - To texture a cylinder, he used warp tool to curved the texture around it

Markus Lovadina

Done some research on this artist because of his lighting skill and also linked to the cannon assignment

Done some quick sketches that popped in my head

Didn't fancy any sketches from above so I decided to sketch another one

WIP: Maya

This picture above shows you where I've put my lightings. I got a directional light pointing downward which draw attention to my cannon while adding a ambient light at the top to give it a sunny day.

WIP: Photoshop

Normal texturing using the skew tool to get the right angle

Using Warp tool

change the layer to multiply in order to get the effect of the shadow

Using the dodge tool to get the light effect

Adding texts using skew tool

Final Outcome!

Alien Plant

This week’s assignment is to design and produce designs for alien plants and a small section of the landscape they are growing in.

Pictures above explains all different sort of lighting effects.

I'm quite happy with the lighting because it's my first time experimenting with the lighting coming from the middle. It would be very difficult to place a light in maya in the centre to get the toning.

In the middle of this mysterious plant, it produce its own light source.

Wrinkles

I didn't want him to stand because it shows no emotion.

I went with a bow instead of a katana because its too obvious. Most old samurai would be an archer.

Getting the right pose, looked at reference for the armour.

Trying out some face expressions and looking at their armour that they wore.

I wanted to draw something very traditional so i went with japanese culture (Samurai).
I won't be capturing his whole body, only his upper torso which allow us to see his face clearer.

After that, I looked in depth with wrinkle and how it was created. Done some researches on the human face with muscle diagrams. Explaining how wrinkles goes opposite directions with muscle lines.

My new assignment was to create anything that has wrinkles. So i've done some research on wrinkles in general through games, artists, old people and some creatures.
