Task was to recreate this work but only using bold colour to see the lighting

Didn't know what to do first, I felt safe to draw the outline first

At first I had no idea where to begin, so i drew the outline which was a bad idea. The idea was to expand our technique and recreate the character using just the basic colours. I wasted so much time in class trying to draw the outline, which gave me little amount of time to finish this work. In the end, i was quite happy with the result.. only if i didn't make that mistake from the beginning.
